This is an original painting, created with acrylic paint and mixed media on 400gsm paper.
An enduring truth about life as we know it is the unity of function even when the forms are disjointed. This series of work explores the interplay between light and dark, the visible and the invisible, with collage elements, markings and textures. Black and vivid yellow shapes contrast with soft muted pinks and greys in different organic forms. The darks represent the calmness of the night, the memory of that long forgotten story, while the brights capture the charms of day, of life, and of joy. They come together in these works encapsulating all of these emotions, encapsulating life itself.
